Snail-like-internet connection

After moving into my new room, I realised that the connection here is very slow.

Tmd! -.- It is stated the connection that I'm receiving is HSPDA

BUT..

the speed that I'm receiving is not that fast.

I reckon it is slower than EDGE.

The wi-fi from the guy's hostel is more faster than my maxis broadband.

The problem is, I don't see the wi-fi always.

Sigh. How am I going to source materials for my reading skill in such condition?
